Tekken 8 - Clive Rosfield

After the shocking announcement of Final Fantasy 16’s Clive Rosfield joining Tekken 8, the development teams released three extensive Dev Talk videos sharing new details. Check them out below.

Clive’s inclusion in the fighting game stemmed from similarities to Jin Kazama’s own journey to escape his fate. As a character focused on power, he can use Eikonic Abilities like Phoenix (for closing the distance with opponents), Ifrit and even Leviathan from The Rising Tide DLC. Of course, as the trailer showcased, he can also harness Ramuh and Odin.

Limit Break is also available and offers a substantial boost in power. Torgal also provides support, extending combos and even transforming into Fenrir. The new stage, Phoenix Gate, will be familiar to Final Fantasy 16 fans, with the first part featuring the battle between Ifrit and Phoenix. Any wall slams will result in the latter launching a fiery salvo.

When the stage transforms, it will resemble a familiar scenario within Clive’s mind. With the Final Fantasy 16 team involved in the entire process, everything looks as authentic as can be. And if all this wasn’t enough, Clive’s addition to the roster includes two tracks from the game – “Find Your Flame” and “Away.”

Clive and Phoenix Gate arrives today for Season 1 Pass holders and December 19th for everyone else. As for the future, Season 2 kicks off in Spring 2025, with Anna Williams hinted as the next DLC character.
