UPDATE: Leaker Dusk Golem has said on Twitter that the screenshot of their supposed leaked details on Monster Hunter Wilds is fake, and that they’ve “never said anything like that to anyone.”

Original story follows:

Capcom has made a strong mark on the modern open world space with the recently released Dragon’s Dogma 2, but it seems like the company has an even bigger behemoth waiting in the wings. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch sometime next year, and as per prominent leaker Dusk Golem, it’s set to be Capcom’s biggest game to date “by far”.

Speaking on fellow leaker The Snitch’s Discord server (via Reddit), Dusk Golem reiterated that Monster Hunter Wilds is going to be fully open world, unlike its predecessors, and that “the entire game” revolves around that open world structure, including its story, endgame, and more. The leaker also claims the game is far riskier and more experimental than Monster Hunter World and Rise, but that feedback for the changes it is making has been “stellar” so far.

Interestingly, Dusk Golem also claims that Monster Hunter Wilds has been in the works in some capacity since as far back as 2019. The game is once again being led by Yuya Tokuda, who was the director on Monster Hunter World, who, interestingly enough, was given “complete freedom” by Capcom, according to Dusk Golem. “Pretty much no questions asked,” the leaker says.

Plenty of ideas that were scrapped during Monster Hunter World’s development are also allegedly being implemented in the game. Dusk Golem also claims that Zorah Magdaros – the Elder Dragon that was introduced in World – is returning as well.

As per the leaker, Monster Hunter Wilds is targeting a Q1 2025 release, and with Capcom allegedly “banking on” the game to “carry the whole fiscal year”, the company is unwilling to delay it. “I don’t think even GTA 6 could make them delay it,” Dusk Golem says.

Whenever it launches, Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on PS5, Xbox Serie X/S, and PC. Leaks have claimed that the game will release for the rumoured Nintendo Switch 2 as well.
