gran turismo 7 update 1.57

Sony and developer Polyphony Digital have released a new update for Gran Turismo 7. Numbered at 1.57, the update brings with it a host of new content, including new cars, additions to the Café menu, new events, and improvements to the Sophy AI agent.

The new cars added to Gran Turismo 7 as part of the update are the Aston Martin Vantage ’18 (buyable from Brand Central), the Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition ’21 (buyable from Brand Central), and the Renault Kangoo 1.4 ’01 (Buyable from Brand Central or Used Cars). In a post on the PlayStation Blog, senior product manager Ken Chan has provided quite a few details on the new cars.

The Aston Martin Vantage ’18 carries forward the core concepts that the Vantage line has had since 2005. The ’18 uses the same platform as the DB11 V8, but with a shorter wheelbase. The car is also 120 kg lighter than the DB11 V8, which allows it to excel in cornering. Equipped with a Mercedes-AMG 4L V8 with 502 BHP, the Vantage ’18 is able to hit a 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, and can hit a top speed of 195 mph.

The Mazda CX-30 Smart Edition ’21 is an SUV based on the SKYACTIV-X model. Along with strong guts like a 2L gasoline direct injection engine that uses a spark-controlled compression ignition system, the CX-30 Smart Edition also includes a host of driver assistance features, including the Active Driving Display, which provides drivers with a HUD right on their windscreen. It also features the Smart Brake Support system for better emergency braking.

The Renault Kangoo was originally designed to target the niche of small commercial vans all the way back in 1997. The 2001 model that we get in Gran Turismo 7, however, comes with some upgrades, including a 1.4L gasoline engine and 73 BHP. While not the fastest car around, the Kangoo ’01 is able to take shots at just about any terrain you can throw at it thanks to its soft suspension.

Along with the cars, there are new additions being made to the Café menu in the form of Extra Menu No. 45: Suzuki. Attempting this collection has a pre-requisite of a player’s Collector Level being at least 35.

Three new World Circuits events are also coming with the update – Sunday Cup: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, European Clubman Cup 600: Deep Forest Raceway Reverse, and Japanese FF Challenge 450: Tokyo Expressway – Central Counterclockwise. Players can also use the new Faroe Islands in their Scapes thanks to the update.

Wrapping the update up is Sophy AI, which is has now been upgraded into GT Sophy 2.1. While full details about improvements made to the racing AI haven’t been revealed, Sophy can now be used in Custom Race mode. This includes all GT Sophy supported tracks and layouts available through World Circuits. This is currently only available on the PS5 version of the title.

Gran Turismo 7 is available on PS4 and PS5. For more details about the racing sim, check out our review.
