The more we see of Dreamsthe more we get excited about all of the possibilities that will be available to create all kinds of things in the game. There are still a lot of specific details about Dreams that players would like to know, and in a recent interview, the developers revealed a lot of new details about the game, including about multiplayer, performance, the beta, and more.

While speaking with GameInformer, Media Molecule co-founded Alex Evans revealed that the game’s beta will be available by the end of this year, as has been promised for some time now, and the creations you make in the beta will be present in the full game as well. You will be able to make games of pretty much any genre within Dreams, except for an MMO of course- but players won’t be able to make money from their creations.

While players can make 2D games, these will be tougher to create than 3D games. The game attempt to run at 60 FPS, but there can be a drop in frame-rate if players load levels with too many things (which is understandable)- but of course, levels will load better on the PS4 Pro.

Dreams will be kid-friendly, according to Evams, so you can’t publish M rated games, even though you can make them. There will be a story campaign in the game ,and there will also be weekly community creative challenges to keep players engaged. There will also be hours of tutorials to get players acquainted with how everything works, but Evans stated that these tutorials will be fun, so if you’re worried about having to sit through boring tutorials to fully grasp the game’s mechanics, don’t be. Additionally, online play will not be available on day one, and as of now, the developer isn’t sure when it will be added.

There’s a lot more information which the developer revealed, so you should check out the entire interview yourself if you’re interested. Dreams will release in 2019 exclusively for the PS4.
