Following recent leaks, Ubisoft has offered a clarification on how Assassin's Creed's upcoming Animus Hub, previously known as Assassin's Creed Infinity, will function.
"By drawing meaningful contrast between past and present, we aim to restore the balance that was once the hallmark of the franchise," says franchise director Marc-Alexis Coté.
"Assassin's Creed Shadows represents our opportunity to change that narrative, not just for Assassin's Creed, but I think for Ubisoft as a whole," says Marc-Alexis Coté.
The added development time afforded to the upcoming open world action RPG will cost an additional $21.7 million, Ubisoft has said.

Following underwhelming sales for Star Wars Outlaws, the developer's next blockbuster has been delayed, though other factors may be at play.
"While the game is feature complete, the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release led us to provide additional time to further polish the title," Ubisoft says.
Shortly after Ubisoft announcing the cancellation of its TGS plans, it's now being claimed that the game's planned press previews have also been cancelled.
